Custom picture framing in midtown Toronto
Experience custom framing designed to beautifully preserve and showcase your artwork, photographs and cherished memories. Every piece that comes through our Avenue Road studio is crafted with care, sized, matted and finished by people who hang art for a living.
Framing that protects, not just decorates
We use museum-grade, archival products, the same conservation standard galleries and collectors rely on, so the frame protects your piece for decades instead of quietly damaging it. Acid-free matting and backing keep paper from yellowing; proper mounting keeps canvases and prints flat and stable; and the right glazing guards against fading.
Because we're a working art gallery, not just a frame counter, the advice comes from how work actually looks on a wall. We'll tell you when a piece wants a wide mat and a thin profile, when it should float, and when the simplest frame in the shop is honestly the right call.
How it works
1. Bring in your piece
Walk into the gallery at 1777 Avenue Rd, Level 2 (Wednesday–Saturday, 11am–5pm, no appointment needed), or book a house call and we'll bring frame samples to you.
2. Choose the design together
We'll lay real corner samples against your piece and put together moulding, mat and glazing options at a few price points, so you can see exactly what you're getting before you commit.
3. We craft, you hang (or we do)
Your piece is framed with archival materials and finished ready to hang. Want it delivered and installed? We offer professional delivery and hanging across midtown Toronto and the GTA.
What we frame
Original paintings and canvases. Limited edition prints and fine art photography. Works on paper, posters and drawings. Family photographs and the personal pieces you'd never forgive yourself for losing: certificates, keepsakes, memories. If it matters to you, it's worth framing properly.
We frame for clients across Bedford Park, Lawrence Park, Lytton Park, Forest Hill, Yonge & Lawrence, Yonge & Eglinton, Bayview, North York and the wider GTA. We're minutes away by car from most of midtown, right on Avenue Road.
Frequently asked
- How much does custom framing cost in Toronto?
- Every job is quoted individually because the price depends on the size of the piece, the moulding you choose, matting, and glazing. Bring your piece into the gallery at 1777 Avenue Rd (or book a house call) and we'll put together options at a few different price points on the spot.
- What does museum-grade or archival framing mean?
- It means the materials touching your artwork (mats, backing, mounting) are acid-free and conservation quality, so the piece won't yellow, fade or deteriorate in the frame. We use museum-grade, archival products on our framing work.
- What can you frame?
- Original paintings and canvases, fine art prints and photography, works on paper, posters, and cherished personal pieces and memories. If you're not sure whether something can be framed, text us a photo at 416-487-2934.
- Do I need an appointment for framing?
- No appointment needed Wednesday to Saturday, 11am–5pm. Just walk in with your piece. Outside those hours we're happy to meet by appointment, and our House Calls service brings frame samples to your home.
- Can you frame and hang artwork in my home?
- Yes. With House Calls we handle the whole journey: a 45-minute in-home consultation to choose frames and placement, then delivery and professional installation anywhere in midtown Toronto and the GTA.
