About Janusz Orzechowski
Janusz Orzechowski is a Polish contemporary painter known for his pop culture paintings mixing realism with surrealism. His work mixes movies, comic books and famous artworks throughout history to create a dreamy fragmented vision.
Painted with a meticulous, near-photographic finish, his canvases fold cinema stills, comic-book characters and art-historical quotations into single uncanny scenes. The images reward slow looking and double takes in equal measure.
