About Robert Rauschenberg
Robert Rauschenberg is an American artist whose work ranged from paints, sculptures, prints, photography and performances. He is known for his radical use of materials and methods; he was a key figure in the Neo-dada movement.
Rauschenberg (1925–2008) stands among the most influential American artists of the postwar era. His “Combines” of the 1950s collapsed the boundary between painting and sculpture, and the decades that followed were defined by restless experimentation across silkscreen, transfer techniques and collaborative printmaking. His prints and editions are held in major public collections, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
